Here's an important fact that even some doctors won't admit . . .
Candida is a common yeast that causes serious health issues when allowed to invade your body. The most common species, Candida Albicans, is a di-morphic life form, a two-headed snake. Which means it has two phases in its life cycle. Candida begins as a simple sugar-fermenting, budding yeast which plants itself inside your body robbing you of vital nutrients, while poisoning you with metabolic toxins. This is its first phase of growth. If allowed to spread, it will inevitably enter its second phase. Candida then changes into a deadly fungus and becomes the root cause of many disgusting disease states.
This is the hard-to-live-with phase called Candidiasis. Once the Candida cycle is triggered, it spreads like the plague, destroying your immune system one day at a time. Do you want to hear a shocking fact? Many medications, especially antibiotics, actually help the Candida colonies to grow even faster. Antibiotic Literally Means "Against Life" Your digestive system depends upon good organisms called probiotics, meaning "good for life." Left unchecked, Candida will impair your digestive system by off-setting your probiotic balance, a serious condition called dysbiosis.
The Dangers of Candida Overgrowth . . . Candida create toxins that block normal nutrient absorption. They grow into Rhizoids that take deep root in your intestinal walls causing symptoms similar to Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Eventually Rhizoids inflame and cause Leaky Gut Syndrome. Once their toxins get into your blood, you have Systemic Candida, a fungal invasion that affects virtually every organ and tissue in your body. Later stages develop into bowel disorders, food intolerances, environmental sensitivities, allergies and even asthma. Auto-immune disorders develop as your body begins attacking itself at the cellular level.
Allowing Candida to spread can destroy your quality of life. However, treating Candida with antibiotics can often wipe out your body's natural defenses, making the next attack even worse.
The Poisonous Fungus! Left unchecked, this nasty intruder will transform itself into myriad of other problems, many of which are more difficult to control. At least 80 toxins are produced by the invading Candida fungus, including Canditoxin and Ethanol. These both cause your brain to release its own toxic chemical compounds that interfere with your nervous system. Canditoxins trigger nervousness, paralysis, long-term immune system impairment and possible death. Ethanol causes fatigue, aggression, depression, brain fog and toxicity. Candidiasis is a major factor in metabolic disorders such as high LDL cholesterol, neuron developmental disorders (Autism/PDD), autoimmune diseases (Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid arthritis, etc), bowel diseases (IBS), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Asthma.
Basic symptoms can be: thrush; recurring vaginal infections, dry itchy flaky skin, acne, jock itch, athlete's foot and severe diaper rash.
Candida, the Silent Killer! Invasive fungal infections, such as candidemia, caused by Candida, are on the rise. Candida is associated with a high mortality rate (30% to 40%), yet is also responsible for extended hospital stays and increased medical costs. Sepsis caused by Candida species is "clinically indistinguishable" from bacterial infections. This is why it's difficult to diagnose correctly.
An Independent Study A retrospective chart review conducted during 1996 to 1999 at the Veterans General Hospital-Taipei found that out of 130 fatal cases of infection, candidemia was the most likely cause of death in 55 patients (42.3 %). These results prove that if you do nothing about Candida it can fester into something life threatening. Candida now ranks fourth as the most common cause of in-hospital blood infections. Candidemia can be caused by catheters, intravenous feed lines and broad-spectrum antibiotics.
Do Doctors Really Know? Even today, some doctors actually deny that Candida infections even exist, in spite of the evidence. This becomes part of the problem and is obviously responsible for many misdiagnoses and unnecessary suffering and pain.
